Saving the Best for Last

Aaaaaaah.

Finally, the one I've really been wanting to eat. Gethsemani Farms. The one that not only is my favorite, but I appreciate that much more because a) I receive it as a gift from my Mom (along with their amazing, do-not-light-matches-near bourbon fudge), and b) I don't have to review it--all I have to do is eat it.
It's a delicious way to end the gladsome fruitcake season. Happy New Year to all--here's wishing you plenty of good-tasting things in 2008.

Oh, the boozy goodness!!! Enjoy your fruitcake and a little reviewing respite until it starts up again.

You should try the Holy Transfiguration Skete cakes from Michigan. They're practically a liquid.

Tried fruitcake cookies from Wisconsin Cheeseman, they were simply amazing.

Lowell, thanks for the comment. Frankly I'm shocked, because the Wisconsin Cheeseman fruitcake was horrid. Maybe I'll give the cookies a try.

Hi Isabelle,
I'm a fruitcake fanatic, but I live in Germany, the land of the awful "Stollen"....
This Christmas season I'd love to introduce fruitcake to my customers and am having a hard time deciding which one to choose.
Trappist Abbey is giving me the best price on their 1lb cakes, but their packaging isn't very appealing...
Assumption Abbey Bakery is offering me a special price on their 2 lb cakes, but I don't know what the packaging looks like...
And all the others don't offer wholesale pricing.

I'd really appreciate some advice! You can email me directly at barbarycoast@web.de.

Thanks so much!
